Adjunct Recruitment PDF Print E-mail

As the primary provider of post-secondary education in the Bering Strait region, Northwest Campus also offers a variety of special interest courses to enrich the lives of western Alaskans. Additionally, the campus frequently hosts academic and culturally relevant public lectures in efforts to bring attention to various contemporary issues.

mike_c_wmo.jpg The majority of our special interest courses are led by adjunct instructors. Adjuncts play a vital role for the campus in helping to add richness and diversity to our list of course offerings. In the past, adjunct-led courses have covered everything from the arts, to mechanics, to Middle Eastern studies. Some recent courses taught by adjuncts include ceramics, photography, watercolor, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, EMS/first aid, car and small engine maintenance and various language classes among many others. Northwest Campus continually solicits part-time adjuncts in all areas of expertise. In addition to Nome-based offerings, adjuncts are frequently utilized to lead Northwest classes in regional villages.

If you have mastered a particular skill, art or discipline and are looking for a way to share it with the community, then we are looking for you. Anyone interested in becoming an adjunct is encouraged to contact the Instructional Services office at 443-8407 to learn more about teaching at Northwest Campus.
