Meeting Training Needs PDF Print E-mail

Northwest Campus provides customized vocational and educational programs for businesses, schools and agencies of the Bering Strait region. These programs allow the campus to retain some its original community college mission, and are made possible through partnerships with organizations that serve northwestern Alaska. These targeted programs strengthen our region’s workforce with courses that meet present and future training needs.

Northwest Campus has offered many job-specific courses over the years. Examples include courses in first aid and CPR, certified nurse aide skills, boiler maintenance, meeting OSHA standards, construction technology and computer skills.

If a group of people in your organization needs specific coursework or training, please contact NWC's Instructional Services Office to discuss a customized plan to meet your needs. Courses can be offered at the Nome campus, in villages, and across the entire region via distance delivery. A minimum of 10 students is required for Northwest Campus to offer a course.
